Science Alive with T11- Force and Motion.

Today we had an awesome lesson with the Science Alive outreach teacher Julie. We learnt lots of things about our new inquiry topic 'Force and Motion'.

T 11 were fantastic at listening!

There were 4 stations that we completed. The first was 'Fantastic Forces' where we had to decide if items were using pushing, pulling or twisting, including when we carried a heavy load.

Our second station was Downhill Motion. We used a special ramp and talked about what forces are applied when something goes down hill. We experimented with affect of different surfaces- smooth, bumpy, rough etc.

The third station was Magnetic attraction where we got to play with Magnets. It was fun to work out what was magnetic and not. We had lots of fun playing with the big magnets.

The final station was Air Force where we learnt about air resistance and gravity. The parachutes  we played with were awesome and we loved making the gyrocopter!

We now know a lot more about forces and how they work and we are excited to learn even more!
A special thank you to the wonderful parent helps who came along and ran a station- Lisa, Janine (and Charlotte) and Louise. Also to Deb and Nina for joining us for the session.
