Week 1 & 2 Reading
We have been learning how to manage ourselves during reading time. Each day we have two activities we 'must do' and other activities that we 'can do'. We have been rotating around these activities and learning how to do them so when our teachers start to take reading groups on Thursday we will know what to do on our own.
We must practice our handwriting one day a week. We share it with a buddy.
We can practice our writing and spelling on the whiteboards. Some of us like to play hangman with a buddy.
We must play some reading games each week and learn to read silently.
We must do some writing at the writing table and practise our spelling.
We do reading on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We take a book home on each of these days. On Wednesday we will bring a browsing box book or our poem folder home. We also go to the library on Wednesday so we would love it if you could read the books we pick with us. On Friday we get a new poem to share with you.
